Just saw (500) Days of Summer. Almost cried thrice.Why is it that when a man pines for a woman it is sad, yet adorable, but when a woman pines for a man it is just desperate?

Just saw (500) Days of Summer. Almost cried thrice.Why is it that when a man pines for a woman it is sad, yet adorable, but when a woman pines for a man it is just desperate?
